The top boys name currently is Jacob and that is what most parents are naming the new born sons. The name Emily has been a favorite of parents for their new born girls, but that has changed now. The most popular name for girls right now is Emma. It wasn’t easy for the name “Emma” to go ahead of Emily, because Emily was the most common name for girls for the last 12 years. Emma did make it in the top 10 in 2002 and many believe this is because Jennifer Anniston named her baby that on theĀ TV show calledĀ Friends.

The name Miley is 127th on the list and this moved up 152 spots. Her stage name of Hannah Montana actually had a bit of a drop. The name “Hannah” was at number 9 for the most common girl names and now it has fallen to number 17.
