The rookie outfielder for the Atlanta Braves is making some early noise in the MLB season. For the very first game of the year, manager Bobby Cox wrote down Jason Heyward’s name as the 7th batter in the order on the line-card he submitted opening day. It would be just moments later; when the Say Hey Kid Jason Heyward would belt his first home run, on his first swing in the big leagues. It was a rocket show that went over the right field fence at Turner Field in Atlanta.

It wasn’t long after that, for Jason’s numbers to climb to a lot of first place stats for the Braves team. It was clear that Jason Heyward would not be a 7th place batter in the line up for very long. He would soon get his shot at the 6th spot and did very well there too. In fact, he did so well hitting in the 6th hole, Cox decided to move Jason Heyward in the number 2 hole in the line-up. Heyward continues to shine with the bat and his defense is above average for a major league ball player too. Due to the normal injuries and complaints from the over paid and over rated Chipper Jones; Jason would find him self hitting in the 3rd spot in the order some too. While bouncing back from the 2 and 3 spots in the line up, this rookie sensation from just south of the Atlanta area is tearing it up in the Majors.

Before we can present Jason Heyward his spot in Cooperstown, where the baseball Hall of Fame is located, we must first vote him in as an All Star. He deserves to be there and his numbers are as good as any other outfielder in the National League right now. It would be bad for baseball not to have one of their most prolific players playing in the mid-summer classic we know as the All Star Game.

We always got free books at school. Students were never expected to pay for their books and this should always be true for all levels of education in the public school systems. These are modern times and I know our children’s education is very important to us. Someone needs to be held accountable and get our lottery dollars funding these schools, so each child always gets a free textbook. Public schools have always found a way to make ends meet and it should be even easier now; since our state does receive funds from the Georgia Lottery.

I have been real good this year and I am hoping for a big Christmas. I want to make sure I have everything lined up properly and all the way down to the last details. I know it’s a long drive from the North Pole and I also hear it’s pretty cold up there. Warm cookies and a little warm milk can go a long ways to warming up the blood stream. I think a lot of soul searching goes on during this time and Christmas Eve night is a good way for children and the adults to find themselves and decide how they want to make the New Year a better one. A new movie that is set in Nome, Alaska is said to be a fact based movie on alien abduction. It’s called the Fourth Kind and I’m sure this new movie is going to get a lot of attention. It’s probably a safe guess to say that 99 percent of the people living in the world don’t believe in alien abductions. We hear about them a lot, but no good proof that an alien abduction has ever happened on the planet Earth. Now we have a new movie called the 4th Kind and it’s claiming to be based on real life facts. I know the 1 percent of people that believe in alien abductions will want to see this movie; while the rest of the 99 percent of non-believers will be curious to see too.

I would like to watch this movie the Fourth Kind and see how real it does appear. Have you heard about it yet? Did you know about the Fourth Kind before you read my blog post today? I think this movie is going to draw a lot of attention from us all and since it is claiming to be a true story, it’s going to see its share of critics.

How does this movie get its title? There is actually a scale on aliens and it breaks down into “kinds”. You remember a popular movie called Close Encounters of the Third Kind? That is one of the “kinds” and there is 4 that got created back in 1972. This was the scale that got set up to measure our contacts with aliens and UFO’s:

First Kind – Seeing a UFO or observing a alien aircraft

Second Kind – Providing evidence of an UFO or alien

Third Kind – Contact with a UFO, alien, or extra terrestrial

Fourth Kind – Being abducted by a alien or UFO

The new movie that is based on actual events would fit into the 4th level on this scale and it’s the 4th Kind. Apparently this took place in Alaska and many people have gone missing from a certain area in Alaska. The movie plans to shed light on the alien aspect of things. Others believe the Government is to blame for the people missing in this area in Alaska and it’s just a cover up on their end. This movie may not change any beliefs or answer any questions, but it will expose some light on all the mysterious things that have been taking place in Alaska. I wasn’t aware of these strange things and people that have went missing in Alaska over the years. I look forward to seeing this new movie the Fourth Kind and also trying to do some research on this interesting Alaskan mystery.

It is now time for LeBron to lace them up tight and try to get to the NBA Finals again. He’s already been there once, but his Cleveland Cavalier team didn’t win that year. They faced the Detroit Pistons in the first round this year and beat them in 4 straight games. The opponent now is the Atlanta Hawks and LeBron James will have to figure out a way to beat the Hawks. The team from Atlanta has a lot of talent and athletes and Cleveland may have a tougher time winning against the Hawks. Don’t look for Cleveland to beat the Hawks in 4 games, but they will need to find a way to win 4 games out of 7; if LeBron and Company want to make another trip to the NBA Finals.

The All Star Weekend in Phoenix is over now, but I have my doubts about the dunk contest that took place. I’m not sure who the NBA thinks they are fooling, but the 2009 dunk contest was fixed. There is no doubts in my mind based on the way the judges scored the dunking. Rudy Fernandez scored a 42 on the hardest dunk of the evening and Dwight Howard received a 50 on his first dunk attempt. Both guys needed several tries to get their dunk right, so I’m not sure how you could take away from Fernandez for attempting his dunk multiple times.

It seems the NBA wanted to create a match up with the tallest dunker in the contest against the shortest slam dunker in the event. Nate Robinson and Dwight Howard was the two NBA players that advance to the finals in the dunk contest. I guess the NBA wanted to insure that the extra props that these two guys brung with them, would get used in the dunk contest. The NBA has to approve all props before hand, so they knew Nate Robinson and Dwight Howard were bringing a little extra to the table that night. Rudy Fernanadez had the best dunk all night long and not many guys could have did that dunk. I hope the NBA never tries to fix another dunk contest again! Do you think there was a fix on the NBA dunk contest?

The Tennessee Titans was the last of the undefeated teams for this year in the NFL. They had an amazing winning streak get snapped to one of the oldest quarterbacks in the game. Brett Favre led his New York Jets to a 21 point victory over the Titans that had won 10 games in a row. The Titans are still a good football team at 10-1 on the year and they will be seeing playoff games this year in the Volunteer State. Brett Favre probably just wrote his last chapter in the NFL and I doubt Brett Favre ever does anything great in the NFL again. Aaron Rodgers of the Green Bay Packers is a much better quarterback, regardless what Terry Bradshaw says. Brett is done in the Big Apple and the Jets team will follow behind their aging leader.

The New England Patriots had the perfect season last year and they won all 16 of their regular season games. The Titans team and their fans should be proud of a great effort this year and they have beaten the odds every week; when no one would give them a way to win. The Titans have just woke up every Sunday this year and went out and played better football than the rest of the teams. The Jets and Favre got lucky and the winning streak shouldn’t have got snapped here but it is probably best for the Titans that it did. They can now go back to playing good football and get their team ready for a post season run that could lead them all the way to the Super Bowl.

The long presidential race has came to an end and that end was found at Grant Park in Chicago, Illinois. Some think it’s a bad time to become president, but I disagree. Things are broke now, so the new president has nothing to lose. I don’t think either candidate was that attractive, but it’s no longer up for debate. We have a president and he is our first black president, so we all must come together as Americans and support our new president. Things need to be fixed in this country and hopefully the voters know more than I do and they did put the best man in office. Rock Obama is going on right now in Chicago and all over America, as the African American citizens are really viewing this as a change. I think we got a lot more to prove as a nation and now is the time to back our new president and try to get things fixed with the economy and global warming issues.

The NBA season is just around the corner and will begin next week. That means it’s fantasy basketball time for all the owners out there that like to play fantasy sports. I have played fantasy football, fantasy basketball, fantasy baseball and fantasy hockey. I have even gave fantasy NASCAR and fantasy golf a try and I love a lot of the fantasy sports. It’s great when your the owner, GM and coach all rolled up into one and you can make all the decisions for your team. You can draft your favorite players and you get to use the real-life players to prove if your method works or not against other fantasy owners. I have just completed my live online draft tonight and we had 8 team owners show up out of 10 teams. So I expect this to be a very active fantasy basketball league.

I randomly was awarded the 5th overall pick in the draft. So I got the 5th pick and then it goes down to the 10th team and after the 10th team makes their pick, they get the first pick in the 2nd round of our live online fantasy basketball draft. It was good to be right in the middle of the draft and I got the chance to stay busy because I never had to wait more than 10 picks until I got to pick again. So which players did I get on my team? I have a real athletical team and I believe these guys will get a ton of minutes each night. They can’t produce points if they aren’t on the roster, so I think I have the opportunity to be a real tough team. I can’t wait for the season to start and watch my Atlanta Hawks play and to see my guys from fantasy play too!

So I’m not concerned so much with the age thing and enjoy people’s birthdays. It would be nice if we could slow the process down some and find a way to limit our age in terms of years. If you feel good and have your health, then that is saying a lot and you should enjoy your birthdays. My good friend Lisa is not in good health and she can’t fully celebrate her birthday like the rest of us can. So if your health is still good, go ahead and send out them birthday invitations. The more people that know it’s your birthday, it just means the more presents you will receive! I hope you get to feeling better real soon Lisa from New York and hopefully next birthday you will feel much better than this one. Happy Birthday!

The guys from Wowzza plan to pay their first commission checks out on Tuesday April 29th, 2008. I am scheduled for a $105 payment and that’s for the 7 members I have referred and that upgraded in the Wowzza System.
