So what did you think?

Do you believe the Simpsons went too far in their latest intro for this popular cartoon? Or is this a case of the Simpsons just being the Simpsons?

I can understand why some folks might get upset. I still have no idea why these folks still watch TV shows like the Simpson and Family Guy, who often target people based on age, race, ethnic orgins, and other things, to just name a few. Even when they decide to make humour out of things we consider to be serious issues, we shouldn’t let it bother us. This is what these programs are designed to do. They go to places and say things that most of us couldn’t do in our ordinary lives.

It does seem the Simpsons and Family Guy do a better job of this, since they get under the skin of more people. However, it was Saturday Night Live who was poking fun of different people for different things, long before either one of these two cartoons were around. Just take Tiger Woods auto accident for example. It was around Thanksgiving one night, when his wife saw Tiger’s cell phone and she was able to determine he had been cheating on her with another woman. We would later learn it was a lot of women, but on that night, his wife picked up a golf club and ran him out of the house. Tiger was pilled up on two different prescription drugs; which affected his driving ability, and he couldn’t even get out of his neighborhood, before he had a wreck. Even after wrecking, he was so high on drugs, he was just out in the yard sleeping, when neighbors came over to check on him. This night would cost Tiger Woods a lot. He has lost his reputation, his golf game, and his family from this car accident. In typical Saturday Night Live fashion, the folks over at Saturday Night Live took full advantage of this story. They did a skit portraying Tiger’s wife as someone mean and a spouse abuser. No one really said much and there wasn’t no controversy from this late night TV performance. I guess because only Tiger and a few others were really affected, by the golfer’s Thanksgiving day car crash.

The Simpsons Intro affects a lot more people, so there are more people to take offense to it. If we haven’t learned this already; then we all should get this in our heads. We all laugh if the joke isn’t about us, but as soon as we become part of the joke, we stop laughing. Learning how to laugh at yourself is the hardest thing to do, but it’s an important trait to learn. Those who don’t have the ability to laugh at their own mistakes, are the ones that have the hardest time dealing with others socially. These people distant their self from groups and don’t have many friends. They usually find 1 or 2 people who will listen to them, but all these people ever hear is gripes and complaints. It’s easy to gripe and complain about life. Learning how to walk through this misery with a smile on your face is the trick.

So as for me, I was not offended in the least bit by the Simpsons Intro. For anyone who got to see it. It did leave you with a creepy and strange feeling, after seeing it. I know there are a lot of Simpsons fans out there and you guys must have seen all of these different intros over the years. The Bansky Simpsons Intro also featured something else; which it seems most people might have missed. We finally got to see Homer get run over! He’s been running away from Marge’s car for a long time, as she makes her way to the garage, but he was unable to out run her this time.
