Fantasy Team Loses, But Remains In Playoff Contention
I had a disappointing week and fell just short in my fantasy football league last week. I dropped to the 6th place in our league and if the season ended today, I would still make the playoffs. The top 6 teams in our league get to advance to the playoffs and I am counting on being there when playoff season rolls around.
I have had a hard time fighting off injuries and losing one of my best running backs in Carnell “Cadillac” Williams for the entire season. It’s hard to compete in fantasy football when you have weak running backs. So I am going to need a little luck to get in the playoffs and a whole lot more to actually win, when I get there. I will be facing a team that is ranked higher than me (4th) this week, so a chance to move up in the standings.
My starters for Week 8
QB Peyton Manning
WR Joey Galloway
WR Antwaan Randle El
WR Hines Ward
RB Clinton Portis
RB Maurice Jones Drew
TE Greg Olsen
WR/TE Greg Jennings
WR/RB DeShaun Foster
K Nate Kaeding
DEF Tampa Bay
INDIVIDUAL DEFENSIVE PLAYERS: DeMeco Ryans, James Harrison, Bob Sanders, Jermaine Phillips, Patrick Willis, and Mike Peterson
MY OPONENT
QB Jay Cutler
WR Mushin Muhammad
WR James Jones
WR Ashley Lelie
RB Lamont Jordan
RB Kenny Watson
TE Jeff King
WR/TE Marty Booker
WR/RB Steven Jackson
K Jay Feely
DEF Washington
INDIVIDUAL DEFENSIVE PLAYERS: Derrick Brooks, Nick Harper, Leigh Bodden, Kelvin Hayden, Mike Vrabel, and D.J. Williams
I have had some bad luck and I don’t think my record or total points show just how good of a team I have. Hopefully I can get back on the winning track this week and move up in the standings. It’s not a comfortable feeling when you are on the edge of not making the playoffs. I need a little insurance and if I can win this game, it will be a huge boost to my team, as I will start facing some of the weaker teams in the league coming up.
