One month we are paying over 4 dollars at the pump and now we find gas selling for less than 2 dollars a gallon. I didn’t think gas prices would ever go below 2 dollars a gallon again, since the oil supply on Earth is going to run out one day. Consumers might actually think about buying a SUV now and this wouldn’t have even been a consideration for most folks 2 months ago.

The SUV’s is the vehicles that a lot of people focus on as “gas drinkers” and I wonder how sports cars stack up against them. A Ferrari would consume more gas than a regular car that didn’t have a high powered engine under the hood. Growing up as a kid, I went to a few Christmas parties or our families getting together to share in the holiday cheer. I would usually see about 20 to 30 people at most of these Christmas parties and that was the size of a typical Christmas party back then. Now we have our elders living longer and every family has to have a few children these days. A growth in population and living in neighborhoods that have the houses closer together are causing bigger Christmas parties.

I’m sure many people will have 50 or more people over to their house for a Christmas party this year. This means adding more chairs around the table and you may have to place a few bar stools at the table to sit the older people. The bailouts contine in D.C. and Washington has approved another bailout for a struggling company. This time it will be Chrysler, Ford, and GM that get money from the government and this is expected to keep a lot of employees working for the next few months. The economy is still struggling and even bailing out the Big 3 right now, doesn’t guarantee any long-term success. It will be up to each auto maker to get their act together and spend this new money wisely that’s been given to them.

I think the bailouts are the wrong way to go and we need to reshape this country for today’s times. Old ways of doing business is what got us in trouble in the first place and now we are aiding these financial ways of yesterday, knowing they are probably going to fail again in the future. I was for the AIG bailout and I did think they was a company too big to faiil. I now change my mind on that view and no bailouts should ever happen. A one time thing can prove to help the economy, but to do it over and over with so many different companies is not the way to handle things. These big companies are the only ones being saved and our tax dollars isn’t helping out the small guys. The small guys don’t need Wall Street; it’s actually Wall Street needs the small businesses and this is why our economy is struggling so much now. We have forgot about the small business guys in our country and continue to do that with these bailouts. We are due for a hard fall in the future and the sooner that happens, is the sooner we can get back to a strong economy here in America.

Which holiday dinner do you like best? Is there one holiday dinner that is far superior to any of the other dinners cooked through out the year? I love Thanksgiving and all the fixings and it’s really the first big holiday meal my family eats for the year. So I do always look forward to stuffing my face with great food on turkey day. I was just curious if other families ate 2 big dinners like this each year or if it was just my family that did this. We do like to eat in the South and food is just as important as the gifts under the tree or anything else that gets done on Christmas Day. For me there is no difference in a Thanksgiving dinner or a Christmas dinner. Do you have a difference in these two dinners or is there another holiday or birthday that gets more food on the table?

I know the kids have to watch their shows on television and I think most of us can live with that. I have got interested in the kid shows and cartoons that my twin nephews like to watch when they visit our house. I believe other grown ups adjust to watching kid programs too, so they can make them happy, by having control of the television. I think when the tv goes off and the video games start is when parents do miss their televisions the most. Parents in the late 80′s didn’t have much of a choice when it came to video games and television. They had to go without watching tv or had to be the bad guy and not let their kids play the games as much as they wanted to.

Now we have technology we can rely on and the computer is the place we can send our kids to play their favorite games.
