We have been doing ok for the summer of 2008 in Georgia so far. We are below normal for our rainfall deficit on the year. So things could be much better, but we are ahead of the game in 2008, than we were this time last year. The good news this week is that our area is forecasted for those afternoon thunderstorms all this week and if we can get a nice little rain shower each day for the next few days, this will help a lot on our rainfall deficit for the year. From right now until the middle of August will go a long ways in determining just how bad the drought might get this year. The experts believe our fall time of the year will be worse than the summer time for Georgia residents. So the next few weeks will be critical for us and the more rain fall that we can get now, will go a long ways into helping us keep water for the 2008 year. At least rain is in the forecast and it gives us hope here in Georgia. Let’s just hope it turns out to be true and the skies really do open up for us this week. The markets closed lower on Monday by about 29 points to 11,467 on the DOW. I believe the trend continues for the blue chip stocks that make up the DOW and they are going to be sluggish up until the holiday season. We should see a nice positive gain in the blue chip sector come November. I believe the big pharma companies and the financial sector is the safest places to put your money right now. The energy stocks look good, but not sure how much higher they can go.
