 Today is a day that many bloggers are coming together and blogging for a good cause. The topic is abuse and bloggers are free to choose what type of abuse they want to blog about. I will take on road rage and the abuse that drivers have for one another on our streets these days.

I don’t think many of us realize just how dangerous it is to operate a 2,000 pound vehicle and driving it recklessly is no excuse. We need to respect each other out on our road ways and look out for the other person out there. So many fatal tragedies happen everyday that could be avoided with a little more respect for our fellow drivers. There is no need to flip someone off when they don’t use a blinker or cut you off on the interstate. Just be thankful that you avoided them and respect the fact that the other driver might just have something weighing on their mind. Just imagine if you flipped off someone that had just learned of a family member’s death. That person might be feeling like life isn’t worth living without their loved one in their life anymore and if someone like you showed them a rude gesture, they just might snap and you would be on the wrong end of it. Two wrongs don’t make a right, and that needs to be what every driver has in their minds when they take the responsibility to operate a vehicle in public.

I know many people feel safe in their automobiles and enjoy making others life hard on the road. Just don’t think you’re safe because you’re in a car, because you can’t stay in that car forever. You would never ride someone’s backside in a supermarket if their buggy darted out in front of yours. This is because you are in the open and exposed in the supermarket. On the roads you have a false sense of security around you in your vehicle and it just makes you look so much weaker when you try to make someone pay for a driving mistake, that you think they made.

I went to Subway today to get one of those healthy sandwiches that they advertise on TV and the same place that the Heart Association of America sponsors, and I learned that they don’t have spinach anymore. So we are approaching the 1/4 part of the season and after the 4th week of the NFL season, we can generally tell who is for real and who isn’t. I think most of us agree that the Colts and Pats are very good and these are going to be “Super Bowl Like” games when they hook up in the regular season. This is going to be a fun weekend and a lot of good match ups. So let’s cut to the chase and get to my Week 4 selections.

Houston @ Atlanta – Things continue to brew in Atlanta with the ESPN Town Hall Meeting and then shortly after that, Vick tested positive for drugs. Now it gets even more interesting as Matt Schaub makes his return to the Georgia Dome in Atlanta. The Texans might be crippled a bit if Ahman Green and Andre Johnson sit in Week 4 and limits what the Texans can do offensively. Both teams have solid defenses and this is where the game story will be. Which ever team’s defense can create the turnovers on the other team’s territory is going to win this game. Defense plays a big part here and the crowd noise will be the extra edge the Falcons need to keep pace with the Texans defense. (PUSH)

NY Jets @ Buffalo – A good battle brews in New York and I could see a lot of scoring occurring in this game. Bills just aren’t quite there yet as a team and I have a hard time seeing them stopping Pennington to Coles in the Jets passing game. I see Coles with huge numbers here and will go with the Jets to win this one, but both teams put up 24+ points.

Baltimore @ Cleveland – The Ravens are a good team and I will even go out on a limb and say they are a balanced team. Obviously the questions come more from the offense, then the defensive studs that fly to the ball on Sundays. The Ravens defense and the talented core of young players the Browns have on offense will be the desired match up here. The game might be decided the other way though and I think the Ravens offense has to remain turnover free here, to beat the Browns. If the Ravens turn the ball over, they will lose this game to the Browns. I will say that the Browns force multiple turnovers and edge the Ravens on Sunday. (Browns)

St. Louis @ Dallas – I been known to stray on clear winners sometime and go with the heavily favored underdogs. My upset picks are upset picks and not like the ones you see on television where they aren’t really upset picks. However, even my flare for the dramatic can’t make the Rams the winner in this game. Should be interesting to see if Dallas can finally overcome their first quarter troubles with the struggling Rams. If Dallas doesn’t score in the first quarter of this game, a disturbing pattern will be developing in the BIG D. (Cowboys)

Chicago @ Detroit – I like this game and is one that I really look forward to seeing. It’s my Super Bowl pick in the Detroit Lions playing the team that represented the NFC in the Super Bowl last year. A big reason I’m on the Lions bandwagon is Calvin Johnson and he needs to suit up and play this game. If he plays the whole game, I’m confident the Lions win at home. Bears defense is solid, but I think the Lions will expose them on Sunday and this will be the most points the Bears will allow all year long. I do wish we could get a little more media attention on the Bears quarterback situation. (Lions)

Oakland @ Miami – The Raiders have to travel a long way on Sunday to the South Florida area, where the weather could be a factor in this game. If conditions are wet, then I think it helps the Raiders, but just keeps the game closer in what the final score will read. The Raiders are not the worse team in the NFL, but they are close and Miami’s defense is just too good to lose at home to the Raiders. (Dolphins)

Green Bay @ Minnesota – Brett Farve and crew are running things nicely in CheeseHead Land. The Packers have been deadly with the quick crossing routes the receivers are running and with Greg Jennings back, I see the Packers as a hard team to stop. Vikings have a shot in this game, but they have to put up 30+ points to win. I don’t see them in sync well enough to get that mark and I have to go with Bubba Franks multi touchdown day here. (Packers)

Tampa Bay @ Carolina – This Southeast Divsion matchup will be a high impact game and will be filled with emotions. I look for a lot of extra curicular activites to be going on in this one and don’t be surprised to see ejections and susupensions handed down after this one is over. The Saints and Falcons are done and it leaves these two teams fighting to see who is the best and neither team can afford to lose this game. It’s both teams biggest game of the year and they will be no one holding anything back. Carolina will get Steve Smith involved in this game and it showed last week against the Falcons as they gave him a rest then, so he could be super fresh for this one. Bucs must contain Smith and hold him under 100 yards receiving to give their offense a chance to win this game. I have just been too impressed with Tampa’s defense this year to go against them now. (Buccaneers)

Seattle @ San Francisco – The Seahawks need to get their passing game more established and the 49ers have been solid in defensing the passing game. Patrick Willis is a stud on defense for the 49ers and it’s amazing to see a rookie linebacker with such an impact. Seahawks have the better QB in this game, I’m just not sure if Hasselbeck’s weapons are much of a threat. Alexander needs a big game on the road for Seattle to have a chance. (PUSH)

Pittsburgh @ Arizona – Matt Leniert is done as an NFL quarterback and hopefully for Cardinal fans he never takes another snap again. Kurt Warner will lead this team over one of the best defenses in the NFL. The Steelers are a lock to make the playoffs, but they will under estimate the power that Kurt Warner brings to the table. Let it be noted that the Arizona GM made one of the best decisions in football, by acquiring Warner as a backup. Warner shines bright and Cardinals win in blowout fashion. (Cardinals)

Denver @ Indianapolis – Jay Cutler has to do his best Peyton Manning impersonation, for his Broncos to have a chance at Indy. Now are Harrison and Wayne too much for Bly and Bailey to cover? If they are two corners in football that can keep Harrison and Wayne shut down, it would be Dre Bly and Champ Bailey. Don’t fear Colt fans, you still have two solid tight ends that Manning will find all day long. Colts tight ends come up big in this game against the Broncos. Adai will be a factor in the backfield, but more in the receiving yards than rushing. (Colts)

Kansas City @ San Diego – Two of the best tight ends in football will be featured in this game. I think that could be a good barometer on how to judge this game. The tight end with the better day wins? Now two of the best running backs are on display as well and both backs have struggled to this point. I just can’t see San Diego playing good football for 4 quarters and I think the Chiefs make a 4th quarter comeback and beat the Bolts on the road. (Chiefs)

Philadelphia @ New York Giants – Ok, I went with the Eagles last week in my Week 3 Picks, but Donovan McNabb doesn’t put up numbers like that two straight weeks. Too much pressure from a talented defensive line the Giants have and Antonio Pierce will have a target on McNabb all night long in this Sunday Night match up. I see Donovan McNabb getting sacked all night long and that can’t be good for the Eagles. Pierce makes the play of the game on defense and will keep the Giants on a winning streak. (Giants)

New England @ Cincinnati – I can’t see no team beating the Pats with Moss playing. He’s not just one of the reasons why the Patriots have been so dominant, but he’s the only reason why they have been so devastating to opposing team’s defenses. I don’t see the Bengals putting up much of a fight in this game and will lay down at halftime. Patriots win big and will hit the 50+ mark on Monday Night Football! (Patriots)

Well my fantasy team suffered their first loss of the season. I played against the number 1 team in the league and they had a bad week. They were beatable in week 3, but my team struggled even worse. So it’s my first loss, but I still have a winning record at 2-1. So now bring on Week 4 of the NFL season. My next match will be against the 10th place team in the league, as I sit at the 6th spot right now. So this should be a game that I can stay on the positive side of a winning record.

This is the first week the “byes” come into play, so you might notice some new guys on my team. I picked up Derrick Johnson of Kansas City and Demetrius Williams of Baltimore from the free agency list. I had to cut Mike Peterson of Jacksonville and the Carolina Panthers defense to make room for them. I didn’t like having to part with Carolina’s defense, but I hope I can pick them up later when my team makes it through these bye weeks. The rest of the guys that are new that you see, are guys that I had on my roster and just haven’t had a chance to play yet. I hope Greg Jennings gives me the spark I need, because he had a great week last week in his first NFL game of the season. I been waiting for him to come back, but as soon as he is healthy I have Hines Ward who is listed as doubtful for this week. So I had to pick up Demetrius Williams to cover Hines Ward spot in the line up this week. I have been lucky with injuries and nothing too severe yet. I’m sure I will have a player or two lost later, but hopefully I can manage to make the playoffs and have everyone healthy then!

Great job by ESPN and Bob Ley to shed light on the Vick situation in Atlanta. As a resident of Georgia living 40 miles north of Atlanta and a Falcons fan, I think this was needed for the Atlanta Area. The NBC affiliate here in Atlanta was a disgrace when it came to talking about Michael Vick. During the preseason games, NBC would not talk about Vick. He was barely mentioned and they treated the Vick situation like the plague and refused to talk about it.

I think the panel was good and well-known Atlanta personalities were on it. Terrance Mathis a former Falcon player did a great job in bringing religion to the “Vick Divide” and you could tell he really spoke from the heart. Terrance Moore and Neal Bortz did their normal routines and quick tongue comments, just knowing it would get the crowd in an uproar. The majority of the crowd at this event was in Vick’s favor and the people opposing Vick were outnumbered about 20 to 1.

Now the interesting thing and the one thing that most people all agree on is that Michael Vick deserves a 2nd chance and to play football again. I think that is surprising and I’m not sure it would be a 2nd chance. Afterall this is the man that flipped his own home fans off (which Arthur Blank and the Falcons took no NFL action), busted at a Miami Airport with marijuana (which Arthur Blank and the Falcons took no NFL action), gave a girl herpes under the name “Ron Mexico” (which Arthur Blank and the Falcons took no NFL action), and the episdoe with Congress. Keep in mind his brother is Marcus Vick who hasn’t been an angel by no means, and his name was never brung up at the Espn Town Meeting in Atlanta.

So my concerns is that he’s already had 2nd and 3rd chances and the Falcons team right now and the ownership in control. I beg of you Roger Goodell and the NFL that you please take action on the Atlanta Falcons. They have no restraint on their own players and are unwilling to police theirself. The Falcons oraganization needs to have restrictions and let it be known just what Arthur Blank has created here in Atlanta. Blank needs to be held accountable! He and only he was the one that hired someone just to hang around Michael Vick so he would stay out of trouble. That didn’t last very long, but it proves that the Falcons knew Vick was a questionable character.

Now on the bright side for Micheal Vick. He’s really not that great of a player. He’s being considered the best player in the NFL and the face of it, as he exits for his punishment. It’s a blessing in disguise and Vick’s reputation as a football player is actually gotten stronger, then what he really brings to the table. I’m a Falcons Fan, I know exactly how good he is as a quarterback in the NFL. This guy led a team into cold Green Bay and defeated the Packers in the playoffs several years ago. One game away from the Super Bowl and the Falcons got beat by the Eagles that year. They went from that high to a low that they are at now. This guy played last year, did no one watch him play? Look at his completion percentage? His yards thrown? Yes, he ran nicely but why did they have him at quarterback when Matt Schaub was clearly the better quarterback? The Falcons lost more games than they won! How is this guy the “face of the NFL”? Last game of the year, the Eagles had clinched a playoff spot and set their starters and 2nd string players and the Falcons got beat bad by the Eagles 3rd string! Michael Vick was the quarterback that game! His last game as a NFL quarterback, he couldn’t even lead his team over a 3rd string team!

Pleassssssssssssssssssssse…………..Mike Vick’s football reputation has rose with all this dog fighting going on. I know how good Micheal Vick is, because I watched him, and I call them like I see them. No rosey glasses here, and I have seen many players like Michael Vick. They went by names like Barry Sanders, Tony Dorsett, LaDamian Tomlinson, etc… Put Michael Vick as the face of the NFL, just know that the Packers game and a game against the Vikings is all he is known for. Yes, he’s had a few superman dives into the endzone and we see them highlights and him making men miss, but we don’t get to see the scores, just his amazing “running back” skills.

I had another successful week in my fantasy football league. My team did much better this week, then they did in Week 1 for me. I won by a score of 253 to 179, so this was an easier win for me, than my Week 1 matchup I had. My star again was Peyton Manning putting up 61 points for me and Joey Galloway being the 2nd best player for me with 51 points.

Now the early test for my team comes this Sunday. I will be playing against a very tough team. It’s not just one of the toughest teams in our fantasy league, but they are the toughest team in our fantasy league! Yes, they are ranked number 1 right now in our Yahoo Fantasy Football League. Their team has put up a total of 639 points in their first two games this season, while my team has managed only 452 points. So I really have my work cut out for me in Week 3 of the fantasy season. 4 teams remain unbeaten and the other 2 teams that have perfect records will be facing teams with at least 1 loss on their record. So when we start our Week 4 in my fantasy league they will be 3 or less teams that have at least one loss on their record, since my perfect record tries to hold up against the toughest team in the leauge!

So which team do you like best? I see that I’m facing a tough opponent this Sunday and his individual defensive players are extemely strong. I do see a couple of things that might help me to win on Sunday. His starting running backs in Frank Gore and Travis Henry will be facing two tough defenses in the Pittsburgh Steelers and Jacksonville Jaguars. So I hope these two defenses can contain these two guys. Also Plaxico Burress isn’t 100 percent and has been missing practices. He is expected to practice on Friday but he is nursing a sore ankle. On the flip side, I have Peyton Manning facing the Houston Texans and you would expect Manning to have a solid day against the Texans.

I just have to hope that Peyton Manning and Joey Galloway aren’t my only two stars this weekend. I need 5 players to step up and get me 30+ each. If I can get at least 150 points from my top 5 stars, then maybe the rest of my team can put up another 150 points. I haven’t had a 300 point week yet, but might need to cross that mark this week to keep my perfect record in my fantasy football league.
